Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions have been developed to ensure your visit/booking runs smoothly and safely. By making payment to Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch for general entry or private field hire, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions of entry. Please refer to these terms to ensure you are aware of your responsibilities while at Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch.During your visit you may pick sunflowers to purchase. These are charged at $3 per stem, or 4 stems for $10. Payment can be made at the entry/exit Hut after your visit in the Sunflower Patch. Please bring cash or Eftpos/Credit card for purchases.
Remember, please be respectful of the sunflower patch. Unauthorised cutting, damaging, dropping or dumping flowers will incur a per stem charge. Please leave flowers on their stems for others to enjoy.

We encourage you to bring secateurs (strong cutters), alternatively we have secateurs for hire at the entrance Hut if you want to cut your own sunflowers but forgot your cutters. These can be hired for $15 while you are on site; $10 is refundable upon return of the secateurs.

We suggest you bring something to wrap your cut sunflowers in – a bucket of water or newspaper.

Unless previously agreed upon, no animals are permitted at Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired, registered companion animals or official animals of the NZ Police.

Upon booking, visitors accept and acknowledge that they enter Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch at their own risk. Risks include but are not limited to, slips, trips, insect stings or bites, uneven terrain, inclement weather and other farm users.

Visitors must ensure that a parent or designated caregiver, who is 18 years of age or over, is responsible for all children 10 years of age and under. Continuous supervision of children is appreciated and expected for their safety.

Visitors are prohibited from engaging in any illegal activities on Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch property. Additionally, consumption of drugs or excessive alcohol is strictly prohibited on the property. All visitors understand that Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch are unlicenced premises.

Smoking or vaping is not permitted on Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch property.

Sunflower Patch Hire: It is the hirer/visitors responsibility to ensure that the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, the Smokefree Environments & Regulated Products Act 1990 and the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 as they apply to the hirer/visitors intended use of the field are met.

Cancellation Policy:
a) We recognize that unexpected events occur, and a VIP booking may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. To receive a full refund, please notify us of cancellations or rescheduling in writing at least 72 hours before your booking. When rescheduling bookings, we will work with you to find the next best date. Unfortunately, 'no-shows' and cancellations within 72 hours will not be eligible for refunds or rescheduling.
b) Cancellations due to weather conditions: In the event of cancellations by the Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch due to weather conditions (such as rain or field damage), a full refund will be provided. If we need to reschedule for the same reason, you can opt for a full refund or a transferred credit. Rest assured, we closely monitor weather conditions and will reach out if there's uncertainty before your booking.

Neighbours and Music: Noise levels must be always kept to an acceptable level. Failure to reduce noise levels at our request will result in the booking being shut down.

Consent to be photographed or recorded: By entering Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch, you agree to be photographed or recorded by our staff or a professional photographer. Your entry serves as permission for Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch to use your image on our social media, website, or advertising, including but not limited to print publications, video streaming on our websites and/or social media, and broadcast media.
If you are uncomfortable about this, please let one of our staff members know upon your arrival. All persons signing or accepting this agreement/booking online shall be bound personally to abide by all the terms and conditions. Though we take every precaution to ensure your safety, Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch and its staff will not assume or accept any liability or responsibility for any claim, loss, damage, personal injury, loss or damage to any personal equipment, inconvenience, costs and expenses, delays or irregularities caused by unforeseen circumstances.
